Anne Wilson on How Staying True to Her Roots Lets Her Spread the Gospel to Even More People
Christian singer and songwriter Anne Wilson has shared how staying true to her roots has allowed her to spread the gospel to even more people.
The world is a lost and fallen place filled with people who desperately need to know Jesus Christ and his message of forgiveness, hope and love. Christians are called to be disciples, going out into all nations to spread the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Christ’s message is one that everyone needs to hear.
While not everyone can travel the world and visit every nation for Christ, we all have people—friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers—who we can reach for Him. Anne is a highly recognized Christian musician, and her songs are heard by many.
In the clip above, Anne mentions that several years ago, she was searching for a musical direction for her career. It was when she was down on her grandfather’s farm in Kentucky, sitting by her brother’s grave and listening to old country music, that she realized that she wanted to make country music with lyrics about Jesus Christ and His love.
Later in the interview, Anne mentioned that she always gets messages from people who listen to her music because they enjoy her sound. They weren’t Christians, but because of Anne’s lyrics about Christ, those listeners were led to turn their lives over to Him.
“So, then I started to realize, once I released those songs, that people were messaging me, saying, ‘Hey, we’re not Christians, but we love the sound of your music cause it’s country. So, we listen to your music, and it’s led us to Jesus,’” Anne said.
What God can and will do if we are faithful and do what the Lord has called us to do is unbelievable. Our words and actions can and will have a direct impact on the lives of others and could even lead someone to know Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12 “And in no other is there salvation: for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, through which we may have salvation.”
