70-Year-Old Ms. Gloria Relies on God, So Strangers Show up to Help in Her Time of Need
Gloria, a beloved 70-year-old member of her Nashville, Tennessee, community who relies on God’s divine guidance, direction and solutions to problems and is entirely dedicated to helping others in any way she can, was brought to tears when strangers stepped up in a big way for her.
Christians are called to love and care for one another. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ instructs His followers and us, as Christians, to love our neighbor as ourselves. He called this the second greatest commandment, right behind His call to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Gloria lives out this command to love and care for her neighbor. She will commonly go out of her way to lend a helping hand, even if it means giving them her last $5.
“And I’m always trying to help and do things for people in the neighborhood,” she said. “And I’m known for that. People will say, ‘Oh, you so, and so? Go talk to Ms. Gloria, see if she can help you.’ And that’s what I do.”
Well, Gloria has recently found herself without reliable transportation, leaving her without a way to help others in need. Still, even in her struggles, Gloria relies on the Lord to provide.
“I’m nobody special, I have nothing, but I do have God,” she said.
So, when a Tennessee radio station and a car dealership heard Gloria’s story and her car troubles, they teamed up to help the woman who has done so much for other people. They gave her a car completely free of charge.
When Gloria heard about the generous and loving gift, tears immediately came to her eyes. She was overwhelmed by the love and kindness shown to her.
What a beautiful story that perfectly displays God’s faithfulness and love. Gloria has been faithful in showing others God's love, and God was faithful in meeting her needs.
Mark 12:31 “The second is this, ‘Have love for your neighbor as for yourself.’ There is no other law greater than these.”
