Moment By Moment
GodTube Staff
1. Dying with Jesus, by death reckoned mine;
Living with Jesus, a new life divine;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine,
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.
Refrain:
Moment by moment I’m kept in His love;
Moment by moment I’ve life from above;
Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine;
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.
2. Never a trial that He is not there,
Never a burden that He doth not bear,
Never a sorrow that He doth not share,
Moment by moment, I’m under His care.
3. Never a heartache, and never a groan,
Never a teardrop, and never a moan;
Never a danger but there on the throne,
Moment by moment He thinks of His own.
4. Never a weakness that He doth not feel,
Never a sickness that He cannot heal;
Moment by moment, in woe or in weal,
Jesus my Savior abides with me still.
The Story Behind Moment By Moment
Ira Sankey described that while at the World’s Fair in Chicago, Rev. Henry Varley declared “I do not like the hymn, I Need Thee Every Hour. I need him Moment by Moment.”
Major Whittle was so moved with the idea that after the prayer gathering he withdrew to his room and penned the hymn Moment by Moment. He worked on writing and revising the hymn until 2 am.
In England, the hymn became very famous. Coming into the hands of the well-known Rev. Andrew Murray, of South Africa, then visiting London, he embraced it as his chosen hymn. A year following Mr. Murray visited Northfield, and during a meeting for men in the church he noted: “If Sankey only knew a hymn which I found in London, and would sing it, he would find that it embraces my entire creed.”

A Prayer for Those Who Are Lonely or Isolated This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 23
This Christmas, remember how precious you are to the Creator. Remember that there is nothing you can do or say that would ever separate His presence and love from you. It’s okay to go through Christmas feeling alone and isolated, but make sure you turn to God to fill those feelings of loneliness.
