Holy Spirit

Verse 1:
There's nothing worth more
That could ever come close
No thing can compare
You're our living hope
Your presence, LordI've tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
Your presence, Lord

"So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." ~ 1 John 4:16
Chorus:
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord
Your presence, Lord

"And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord." ~ Isaiah 11:2
The Story Behind Holy Spirit
“Holy Spirit” is the twelfth track from Francesca Battistelli’s 2014 album If We’re Honest. The song is an appeal for the Holy Spirit to bring His presence close to His people. The tune won the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.
According to songfacts.com,
The Christian singer-songwriter, Francesca Battistelli, was born in New York City. She knew she wanted to be a performer at age six when she saw a Broadway production of The Secret Garden. She started her music career with Bella, an all-girl pop group from Orlando, Florida when she was 17. In a Songfacts interview, she named Jon Foreman, Nichole Nordeman, John Mayer, and Stevie Wonder as her songwriting influences. She told Songfacts that she's a recovering perfectionist: "I'm trying to overcome this idea of perfectionism and trying to do things with excellence but not hold myself to impossible standards. You tend to not get anything done when you have to do it perfectly because we're not perfect." She won the Dove Awards for Artist of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year in 2011.
