Dieula Previlon is an ordained minister through the Evangelical Covenant Church. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice and the founder of ElevateHer International ministries where she travels the world to teach women about trauma and how to find healing from trauma. She was born in Haiti and grew up in New Jersey. She lived in north Dallas with her husband and three young adult sons for 16 years and has recently returned to New Jersey. On any given day, you might find her reading, speaking and preaching about the intersections of faith and trauma, racial justice and how the gospel liberates women and all God’s children to live a life of purpose on purpose. Take a few minutes to listen to the experience podcast doing Lectio Divina on Psalm 37 and then tune into this interview to hear where God led Dieula. We discuss choosing trust and rest in God as we believe him for coming justice. We also talk about lament and why this process is so important for our spiritual and physical healing. The exact verses read in this podcast are Psalm 37:1-4, 7 in the NIV. Resources we discussed: Prophetic Lament: A Call for Justice in Troubled Times by Soong-Chan Rah The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk M.D. You can find Dieula at: https://www.dieulaprevilon.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dieulap/
