10 Great Christian Rap Artists

Rap artists encompass not only their music, but the culture that they are trying to reach. Christian rap artists have a unique mission—reaching out to the lost with a certain sound and wording. These 10 great Christian rap artists have shown their commitment to using their gifts to glorify God:

#1) Lecrea (Messengers feat For King & Country)

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Luke 10:2).

Many times we get so comfortable in our lifestyles that we may forget that people are perishing every day around us. How sad it will be when we see family members and friends being sent away to eternal damnation because we never gave them the message of the Good News!

#2) Dereck Minor (Who You Know)

“I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death” (Philippians 3:10).

It isn’t what you know, but who you know that makes the difference. In the Christian walk many people can be familiar with what to say, what to do, how to look or dress—but none of these things matter in the big picture. It’s knowing Jesus and being known by Him that makes the greatest impact on your life.

#3) Dee – 1 (Against Us)

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

When we are born again in the Spirit—we immediately become enemies of those in the world and of Satan. When we recognize the spirit that works in the shadows instead of focusing on the people—we gain the advantage with spiritual insight and prayer. We will be persecuted for our faith, yet we will stand strong in the Lord as we trust in Him.

#4) Trip Lee (Rise)

“Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14).

One day every believer will rise up when the King of glory is revealed to all. In this life we may be knocked down physically, emotionally, or financially—yet we can rise spiritually above our circumstances and still give glory to God who makes all things work for our good.

#5) KJ – 52 (Tonight)

“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 4:7).

The Holy Spirit speaks to us when we’ve sinned to immediately confess and repent, He speaks to our hearts to openly and unashamedly to share the gospel, or He speaks to our minds the Word of God so that we can walk in obedience. Tonight is the immediacy of responding to God and not putting Him off for another time.

#6) Andy Mineo (Bitter)

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice” (Ephesians 4:31).

As believers we are going to be tested in our faith especially when people we’ve trusted betray us.  Bitterness will choke out the joy of the Lord from our hearts and we lose our motivation to press forward in the faith. It’s better for us to confess our bitterness, choose forgiveness, and ask the Lord to replace it with His presence.

#7) Thi'sl (King without a Crown ft. Paul Corey Swade)

“They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being’” (Revelation 4:10).

Not many of us appear to be a part of a royal family; however, through the Holy Spirit we are assured of our righteous heritage. It’s vital to our daily existence to remember who we are in Christ so that we don’t become so accustomed to the things of this world and forget where our kingdom is.

#8) KB (100 ft Andy Mineo)

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Colossians 3:23).

Because we are empowered by the Lord to accomplish great things for the kingdom of God, there is no room for slackers. We are either busy about God’s work or we are wasting precious time. There’s sweet satisfaction for those who’ve discovered giving their 100% for the work of the Lord.

#9) CJ Emulous (All I Know)

“To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I only, but also all who know the truth—because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever” (2 John 1-2).

What do we really know about Jesus? How we live on a daily basis—our actions, our attitude, and our words reveal what we really know about Him. We know the truth and the truth we know will set us free from the bondages of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

#10) Mike REAL (So High Up)

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).

We must discipline ourselves to look up because our Redeemer lives. Whatever is going on in our lives—He knows. The Lord isn’t wringing His hands in heaven over our problems; rather He is waiting for us to step up to our spiritual blessings in heavenly places through Christ.

Rap Loud and Clear

Christian rap artists are speaking truth to their generation. We need these words of hope and life in the midst of darkness. As believers, we must continue to get the truth out to all who will hear it so that we won’t be ashamed when Jesus returns.
