10. This Little Light of Mine

Lyrics

This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine.

All around the neighborhood, I'm going to let it shine.
All around the neighborhood, I'm going to let it shine.
All around the neighborhood, I'm going to let it shine.
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine.

Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm going to let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm going to let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm going to let it shine.
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine.

Don't let Satan [blow] it out! I'm going to let it shine.
Don't let Satan [blow] it out! I'm going to let it shine.
Don't let Satan [blow] it out! I'm going to let it shine.
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine.

9. This Train is Bound for Glory

Lyrics

This train is bound for glory, this train,
This train is bound for glory, this train,
This train is bound for glory,
Don't ride nothin' but the righteous and holy

This train is bound for glory, this train.

This train don't carry no gamblers, this train,
This train don't carry no gamblers, this train,
This train don't carry no gamblers
No hypocrites, no midnight ramblers,
This train is bound for glory, this train.

This train don't carry no liars, this train,
This train don't carry no liars, this train,
This train don't carry no liars,
Truth is what the Lord desires,
This train is bound for glory, this train.

This train is bound for glory, this train,
This train is bound for glory, this train,
This train is bound for glory,
Don't ride nothin' but the righteous and holy
This train is bound for glory, this train.

5. My God Is So Big

Lyrics

My God is so big, so strong and so mighty
There's nothing my God cannot do
My God is so big, so strong and so mighty
There's nothing my God cannot do

The mountains are His, the rivers are His
The stars are His handiwork too
My God is so big, so strong and so mighty
There's nothing my God cannot do, hey, hey

My God is so great, so strong and so mighty
There's nothing my God cannot do
My God is so great, so strong and so mighty

The mountains are His, the rivers are His
The stars are His handiwork too

4. Father Abraham Had Many Sons

Lyrics

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm" and move right arm, as if marching.]

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm, left arm" and move both, as if marching.]

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm, left arm, right leg" and move all, as if marching.]

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg" and move all, as if marching.]

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, chin up" and move all, as if marching.

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, chin up, turn around" and move all, as if marching.]

Father Abraham had many sons
Had many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them
And so are you
So let's just praise the Lord

[Yell "right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg, chin up, turn around, sit down" and move all, as if marching. Sit down at the end.]

3. I’m In the Lord’s Army

Lyrics

I may never march in the Infantry,   (march)
Ride in the cavalry, (pretend you're riding a horse)
Shoot the artillery.   (clap hands together)

I may never zoom o'er the enemy,
(spread arms out and pretend to be a plane)
But I'm in the Lord's Army.   (point one finger up to God)

I'm in the Lord's Army, (yes, sir!)   (salute)
I'm in the Lord's Army, (yes, sir!)
I may never march in the Infantry,
Ride in the cavalry,
Shoot the artillery.

I may never zoom o'er the enemy,
But I'm in the Lord's Army, (yes, sir!)

Thanks to Holly for sending this verse in!
Use same actions as above verse.

I may never march in the infantry,
Ride in the Calvary,
Shoot the Artillary,
I may never fly over land and sea,
But I'm in the lord's Army.

2. Zacchaeus

Lyrics

Zacchaeus was a wee little man, A wee little man was he.
(using both hands, make it look like you are showing the size of a very small man.)
He climbed up in the sycamore tree, the Savior for to see.
(using both hands act as though you are climbing up a tree)

And when the Savior passed that way, He looked up in the tree,
(using you fingers, make it look as though someone is walking.)
And he said, "Zacchaeus, you come down from there;
For I'm going to your house today, for I'm going to your house today."
(Start clapping your hands when singing this verse.)

And Zacchaeus came down from that tree, and he said,
"What a better man I'll be. I'll give my money to the poor.
What a better man I'll be. What a better man I'll be."

1. Jesus Loves Me

Lyrics

Jesus loves me! This I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak, but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know
As He loved so long ago
Taking children on His knee
Saying, "Let them come to Me."

Jesus loves me still today
Walking with me on my way
Wanting as a friend to give
Light and love to all who live.

Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven's gate to open wide
He will wash away my sin
Let His little child come in.

Jesus loves me! He will stay
Close beside me all the way
Thou hast bled and died for me
I will henceforth live for Thee...

Have you sang any of these with your kids, or do you have another favorite song? I admit that sometimes I don’t know all the words when I’m singing with my daughter, but it’s not about getting everything perfect. Seeing her face light up as she repeats the words and tries to mimic all the hand motions is one way God blesses me with joy. What are your favorite Christian children’s songs?

A Prayer for Those Who Are Lonely or Isolated This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 23

This Christmas, remember how precious you are to the Creator. Remember that there is nothing you can do or say that would ever separate His presence and love from you. It’s okay to go through Christmas feeling alone and isolated, but make sure you turn to God to fill those feelings of loneliness.
