10 Awesome Quotes From God’s Not Dead

Pure Flix Entertainment released the movie God’s Not Dead March 21, 2014. Josh Wheaton (played by Shane Harper) is a freshman in college who has signed up to take a philosophy class by Professor Jeffrey Radisson (played by Kevin Sorbo). Professor Radisson is adamant that God is dead and he doesn’t have to teach about God if everyone in the class signs a waiver. Josh is torn about what to do and feels that God is calling him to challenge the professor. I had the opportunity to see God’s Not Dead in theaters and it is powerful! There is a debate on college campuses on whether God exists and this movie highlights how Christians may feel alone while standing firm in their beliefs.

Here are ten awesome quotes from God’s Not Dead:

10. “The only difference between my position and yours is that you take away their option to believe.” – Josh Wheaton

What Professor Raddison tried to be was completely unfair. Threatening to fail Josh for his beliefs and changing the course work was wrong. Stand strong and speak with someone if you are in this type of situation.

9. “God is good all the time. And all the time, God is good.” – Pastor Dave

God is good all the time regardless of what is happening. An overwhelming problem will suddenly seem smaller and manageable when you see that God is in it with you.

8. “If He loves you that much, then who cares what your boyfriend thinks?” – Pastor Dave

You should examine your relationship if your boyfriend or girlfriend is challenging you in ways where God is leading you.

7. “To the wrong person you will never have any worth.  To the right person you will mean everything.”

Dating someone who works to discourage you and tear you down will keep you from becoming who God has created you to become. Look for a spouse who loves you unconditionally even after they know your weaknesses and mistakes.

6. “Some of the most important work we do seems meaningless.” – Reverend Dave

It’s easy to fall into comparing what you are doing to what everyone else is doing. God has you in a unique position. The seemingly small acts of kindness are immeasurable in God’s eyes. Learn to be content where you are and know that God does not measure your worth by what you do. Give Him your full heart and He will fulfill your desires.

5. “I could drop the class, run away, pretend like it never happened, which is what my girlfriend wants. I could sign the paper saying something I don't believe. Or I commit academic suicide in front of a live audience by trying to prove that God exists.” – Josh Wheaton

Sometimes the hardest challenge God brings us is choosing to follow Him when your family and those closest are against you. Don’t back down in the midst of the struggle!

4. “You're here because that still small voice inside you isn't happy with the choices everyone else wants you to make. Personally, I think it's the Holy Spirit talking to you. That's how He interacts with us if we allow him to. All you have to do is decide whether or not you're willing to listen. It's not easy, but it's simple.” – Reverend Dave

The small voice telling you what to do is God pursuing you and trying to guide you in the direction that you need to go. He is all knowing and will never lead you into a situation to desert you.

3. “My life and my whole eternity belongs to God. All this stuff is temporary. Money, fame, success… temporary. Even life is temporary. Jesus…that’s eternal.” – Willie Robertson

Everything is temporary, but it can be challenging not to get wrapped up in the stress, struggle and comparisons. Letting God raise you up is far more fulfilling than building things and being connected with the “right” people.

2. “Sometimes the devil allows people to live a life free of trouble because he doesn't want them turning to God. Their sin is like a jail cell, except it is all nice and comfy and there doesn't seem to be any reason to leave. The door's wide open. Till one day, time runs out, and the cell door slams shut, and suddenly it's too late.” – Mina’s Mother

You can’t measure a person’s worth by how trouble-free their life has been. Everyone sins, regardless of the fallout and consequences.

1. “God's not dead.” – Josh Wheaton

This is the shortest quote and my favorite one! God is apparent all over and you will be amazed at how He works when you become quiet and let Him speak.

Pure Flix Entertainment has announced that God’s Not Dead 2 is in the works! They have also released Redeemed, Camp Harlow, Finding Normal, The Book of Daniel, The Encounter, What If and many other Christian films.
