The documentary titled 'Three Identical Strangers' is a stranger-than-fiction, yet 100% true story about Robert Shafran, Eddy Galland, and David Kellman. After being separated at birth, these triplet brothers reunited, quite by mistake, later in college.

The news story of the triplets' reunion stirred up all kinds of controversy due to the bizarre circumstances behind their separation. It turns out the brothers were unknowingly part of a secret and highly unethical scientific study carried out by the adoption agency. (Read more about the real news story HERE)

Michele Mordkoff, a teacher from New Jersey, happened to watch the 'Three Identical Strangers' documentary. And in doing so, she learned the same adoption agency from the film also handled her own adoption in 1964.

The shocking realization prompted her to finally take a DNA test to research her biological parents' history. And this was God's way of leading Michele to an amazing discovery!

Michele Mordkoff Uncovers Twins Separated At Birth

After receiving the results of her DNA test, Michele Mordkoff started doing some research online. Her efforts led her to a stranger's Facebook page where she found pictures of a woman named Allison Kanter living in California. And while Michele didn't know Allison, she recognized her for sure.

That's because Michele saw her own face in Alison's! And with the two sharing the exact same birthday, the similarities clearly weren't a coincidence. Alison had to be the long-lost twin sister Michele never even realized she had!

Michele fell to the floor with the shock of this discovery. Then, she reached out to Tim Wardle, the film-maker behind the 'Three Identical Strangers' documentary. After so many years apart and in the dark, Michele wanted to meet her long-lost twin sister!

Tim and his crew were on-hand to film the surreal reunion between Michele Mordkoff and Allison Kanter. The two shared such a unique bond as twins and yet, didn't know each other at all!

“She is a stranger to me, but she’s also a part of me — I mean, we shared a womb,” Michele said.

Tim turned the footage of the reunion into a brief documentary titled 'Two Identical Strangers,' which he shared with The Atlantic.

As for Michele and Allison, they'll never get back the years they lost together. But God has brought them together now and they are making up for lost time.

"We FaceTime almost every day," says Michelle. "I feel this insane connection, which is hard to come by at this age."
