When I Saw This Man In A Skirt, I Didn't Know What To Think! But The Truth Behind This Tutu Is Incredible.

You can never have TU-TU much fun!

They say "Laughter is the best medicine" and I believe it! This group of nurses - men and woman - have adopted a new company dress code on Tuesdays that will brighten anyone's day. "TuTu Tuesdays" has proven to be the highlight of their week. And their patients' as well!

It all started when the resident clown aka "Lotsy" (aka Linda Herbert) wore a tutu over her scrubs to cheer up the kids. Wearing the tutu seemed to help the kids take their minds off surgery and put a smile on their face instead.

"It's just fun," Herbert said. "To make even one child smile -- that's powerful. And to see the father and the mother smile ... it just makes the day lighter."

But the trend REALLY took off when Herbert loaned her tutu to a male nurse, Tony Smith, at the request of a small, young patient. This young girl wondered why Tony wasn't wearing one, so Herbert loaned him hers. This simple wardrobe change put a smile on her little face and so the trend grew!

From that day forward, "it was all about making a patient feel comfortable," Tony said. "Having me put on the tutu made her feel better.''

Word spread throughout the hospital and even the guys working valet are 'in' and look forward to "Tutu Tuesdays!"

Herbert said, "It's not all about medical procedures...we really believe in the power of laughter and smiles and having fun."

So, next time you're in any hospital, look for "Tutu Tuesday" - maybe it will come to a town near you!

May God bless you all as you work alongside the doctors in offering solutions and healing.

"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." Matthew 5:8
