Actor And Family Man Treat Williams Is Dead At Age 71 And His Family Needs Prayers

Actor Treat Williams is dead at 71. He lost his life in a motorcycle accident on June 12, 2023. And news of the tragedy left fans and celebrities stunned and heartbroken.

With a Hollywood career that's been going since the 1970s, Treat Williams is one of those faces just about everyone recognizes even if they can't place the specific movie or show. His first big appearance on screen came in 1975 with the thriller Deadly Hero. However, his 1979 role as George Berger in the film Hair is when many began to take note of the talented performer.

Throughout the decades, he's made all kinds of appearances in movies and on TV, from The WB's Everwood and the popular CBS show Blue Bloods, to films like Heart of Dixie and Deep Rising. He also starred in multiple Hallmark and Christmas movies.

So, with Treat remaining an "acting worker," news of his unexpected death hit hard.

"He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off," confirmed Barry McPherson, the actor's agent of 15 years.

Police believe the driver of the car was turning and simply didn't see the actor on his motorcycle. And though medical crews airlifted Treat to a hospital in New York, the actor didn't survive his injuries.

Survived by his two children, Gill and Ellie, and his wife, actress Pam Van Sant, the unexpected loss understandably rocked the family.

"This is a pain I have never felt. I am absolutely shattered," Treat's daughter Ellie shared in an Instagram story. "Thank you to everyone who has sent messages and kept our family in your hearts during this terrible heartbreak."
