There are many great comedy movies on Netflix Instant that are clean and family-friendly that are not faith-based. Whether you are looking for a clean cartoon or a funny teen comedy, there are hundreds of clean comedy movies to choose from.

10. Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil (2011)

Red Riding Hood is fighting crime with Wolf while training with the Sisters of the Hood. Hansel and Gretel are in danger, the secret truffle recipe is stolen and Granny is suddenly kidnapped by Veruschka while trying to solve the case. Hansel and Gretel are actually the masterminds behind the entire plan to steal the truffle recipe and used Veruschka as a decoy. It turns out that Veruschka has been jealous of Granny for years and they make amends while joining forces together just in time.

9. Paulie (1998)

Paulie is more than just a typical parrot that speaks a few words  – he can hold a conversation and fully understands what people are saying. He was originally given as a birthday present to a young girl and helps her learn how to talk. The girl gets too mixed up in fantasy and reality, so Paulie has to leave. This is when Paulie’s life and adventure really begins!

8. The Big Green (1995)

In this Disney movie, teenager Larry Musgrove (played by Patrick Renna) doesn’t fit in and suffers from low self-esteem. He joins the soccer team and, while the team of misfits learn to work together, they realize how much they need each other and work to build each other up.

7. The Emperor’s New Groove (2000)

This family-friendly cartoon is full of laughs as Emperor Kuzco starts using his power selfishly. He fires his administrator Yzma who seeks revenge on him. Emperor Kuzco decides he is going to turn part of the kingdom into a theme park and one of the residents, Pacha, is not pleased. Yzma and Pacha team up together and end up turning Emperor Kuzco into a llama. Will the Emperor end up finding his way back to the thrown?

Hallie Parker and Annie James end up going to the same summer camp and discover they are long-lost twins. Over the weeks they are together, they decide to switch places without their parents knowing. Although they look alike, their personalities are different and Annie has a British accent. Hallie travels to London and Annie heads to California.

Monty Wildhorn (played by Morgan Freeman) is an old, bitter man who has turned into an alcoholic. He just wants to be left alone as he spends the summer in Belle Isle, but three girls who happen to be his neighbors won’t leave him alone. He hasn’t always been bitter and can’t help but connect with the girls and try to help them through their parent’s divorce.

Jenna Rink (played by Jennifer Garner) celebrates her 13th birthday, but is completely humiliated to the point she just wants to run and hide. In a twist of fate, Jenna wakes up in the body of a 30-year-old, but still with the mind of a 13-year-old. Life seems perfect at first with an athletic boyfriend, terrific job, amazing friends and perfect apartment. She realizes that she still has to confront the hurt and pain and realize that life is not always greener on the other side.

3. Freaky Friday (2003)

Tess Coleman (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) works all the time and when she’s not working she is arguing with her teenage daughter Anna Coleman (played by Lindsey Lohan). Out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant one evening, the mother and daughter get into a huge argument. They open their fortune cookies and magically, they switch bodies. This is not normal, but learn that they have to work together and slowly start developing respect for one another before trying to figure out how to switch back.

Jessica Wilhern (played by Catherine O’Hara) is beautiful inside, but feels ugly after being cast under a horrible spell that will only be broken when she finds true love. She goes on a journey to find love and learns how to love herself along the way.

1. Man of the House (2005)

A group of college cheerleaders are in grave danger after witnessing a murder and Texas Ranger Roland Sharp (played by Tommy Lee Jones) is tasked with keeping everyone safe. He puts them all under strict lockdown that prevents them from leaving the house. Ranger Sharp is an undercover assistance cheerleading coach and is handed a lot by these women who just want to leave the house!

Family movie nights are fun, still in style and don’t take a lot to plan  – especially for younger kids. Blow up a mattress, make some homemade popcorn and snuggle on the couch. Buy your teenager’s favorite snacks, make pizza together and let them choose the movie. Most importantly, spend time truly watching the film with your kids and making memories you will all cherish!
