Christian rock or metal music has had a massive effect on my life. The lyrics are completely Christian centered even when they might not sound like it…LOL! This type of music has been a key place of solace for me when I want to think about Christ. There are some very powerful messages in this music that completely relate to messages in music like “the sidewalk prophets” or “third day”. I hope these lyric videos bless you as you listen! God Bless! I went ahead and put these in order from the lightest to the heaviest music. Enjoy!
This is a great song talking about how we all need to be saved from the sinners we have become.
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
This song is about breathing Christ in for the first time and being reborn.
John 20:22 – And when He had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
This song is about stepping out on the frontlines of Christianity. Ephesians 6:10 – 18a This is the passage about putting on the whole armor of God. These verses are perfect for this song. When we step out on the frontlines, we need the armor of God on to survive and to witness to the unbelieving.
This song is about getting rid of fears and not forgetting about our Savior.
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
"Redeemer" by War of Ages
This song is about your last moments here on earth and coming alive in heaven, hence, undying. We will never truly die as believers. John 14:1- 3 says to not be troubled because God’s house has many rooms and there is a place prepared for every believer.
This song talks about real truth and freedom.
Romans 1:18 – for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
This amazing song tells of when Christ comes back and devastates hell and defeats it for good. I seriously get excited every time I hear this song! Revelation 19:11-21 and 20:10 talk about this awesome encounter!
This song talks about being changed through God and being soul embraced with Him.
1 Peter 4:19 – Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful l Creator while doing good.
I love this song because it touches an issue so dear to me. Abortion is a holocaust of the unborn, precious little babies whom God loves so much. I am so distraught as to why someone would use abortion ever, but my heart goes out to those beautiful little babies. My heart also goes out to the moms who have gone through this. God loves you too, no matter what you have done. It is NEVER too late to call out to God. If you don’t know God on a personal level, please consider Him today.
John 3:16 is a very well-known verse, but it is written to explain the cross and forgiveness. For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God understands the hardships that moms face in this decision. He loves you all very much and He is waiting for you to call on Him. He will help heal your wounded heart. I couldn’t find a lyric video so please feel free to read along as you listen.
Verse 1: Yeeeeaahhhhhhh...
Condemned... Condemned... Condemned... Condemned...
Condemned... Without given a chance to speak.
Without acknowledgment they're made less than human.
Chorus:
Condemned... Condemned to anonymity. Trapped by... Trapped by obscurity.
Condemned... Condemned to anonymity. Sentenced... Sentenced to neglect.
Ohhhh..
Verse 2
They will never share our blood, yet is that reason to
Drain what's left of theirs, abandoning compassion?
Chorus
Condemned... Condemned to anonymity. Trapped by... Trapped by obscurity.
Condemned... Condemned... Condemned to anonymity. Sentenced... Sentenced to neglect. Oh...
Verse 3
Why do we uphold allegiance higher than maintaining life?
The ties of blood breaking a stronger bind.
Solo
Condemned... Condemned to anonymity. Trapped by... Trapped by obscurity.
Condemned... Condemned... Condemned to anonymity. Sentenced... Sentenced to neglect
This is the heaviest song on the list. It refers to how the antichrist will rise and fall. It also refers to all of us as murderers because of our sin that put Christ on the cross, and because of this we all need to be washed clean daily through repentance. The last words of the song keep repeating, “I am a murderer. Wash me clean.”
Psalms 51:7b – Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
"Murderer" by Impending Doom
I hope you have been blessed by listening to these amazing Christian rock or metal songs. These bands are only a fraction of many other, Christ-centered ones. I always try to remember that it isn’t the sound of the music that is important; it is the content that is important. Gregorian chants were the music style back in the middle ages. The sound was really not good but the content was church orientated.
