California pastor Greg Laurie also commended Allen.
“That’s fantastic, Tim!” Laurie wrote. “The Bible is God’s very word to each of us. The message of the Bible is really how we can come into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I hope you will read John 3:16. Where Jesus says, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’”

It’s not the first time Allen has discussed faith. He credits God for rescuing him from the depths of addiction in the 1970s when he spent two years in prison on a drug conviction.
“Whoever built me, this is too much, too weird that it happened by accident,” he told ABC News in 2011. “It didn’t happen by accident.”
