A homeless man risked his life to save sixteen dogs and cats from a burning building, and he’s an absolute guardian angel walking this earth.
Keith Walker saw the burning building and couldn't just sit there and wait. He jumped into action. He was heading to W-Underdogs, a rescue shelter for animals. It is also a community group that helps empower youth empathy and learning skills.

The owner, Grace Hamlin, had let Keith keep his dog, a pit bull named Bravo, at the shelter overnight to keep him safe and warm. When Keith saw the fire, he had someone call 9-1-1, and then he ran into the building. He didn’t wait for the fire department. He knew time was short for the animals trapped inside.
Keith, who had been homeless for forty years, didn't pretend he wasn't scared, saying, "I was nervous. . . I'm not going to lie. I was really scared to go in there with all that smoke. But God put me there to save those animals." The fire was said to have started in the kitchen as an electrical fire.
“Dogs are his life. Because of challenges he faces being homeless, sometimes he needs our help,” said Victoria Stilwell, a dog trainer. “He saved every single one, and they’re all perfectly fine,” she added.
Grace said, “It could have been really bad,” she said. “If they hadn’t done that, the fire could have spread and we would have lost all our animals.”
But the story gets better, especially for Keith. As donations poured in to help W-Underdog, they were able to gift funds to Keith to meet his own needs.
They worked to find him a homeless advocate to help him manage his life. God certainly put Keith in the right place at the right time to rescue the lives of 16 animals.
