Teenage Girl with Aspergers Felt 'Worthless' Then Hundreds of Bikers Came to Take Her to Prom
October 15, 2021
Being a teenage girl with Aspergers is a whole new level of hard. It comes with unique challenges, let alone navigating high school which can sometimes be cruel, especially with bullies. This teenage girl with Aspergers felt ‘worthless’ then hundreds of bikers came to take her to the prom!
So what is Aspergers you might ask? It was formerly a diagnosis on its own but is now considered part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

ASD makes it difficult to understand social cues, interaction, and communication. When you meet someone with ASD you might notice two things right away. One, they are often extremely intelligent and two, they have trouble interacting socially. But because they see the world differently, they add a unique perspective with their gifts and talents.
Just because they are different doesn’t mean they should be bullied. And Felicity Warburton was sick of it. She just wanted to be normal, to be treated with kindness and respect. She just wanted to fit in and not feel so alone.
At one point, the teenage girl with Aspergers even considered taking her own life to end the pain of being bullied. But through her parent’s support and God’s strength, Felicity began to accept and even embrace that she was different.
Making Prom Special For Teenage Girl With Aspergers
When the idea of going to prom became a reality, Felicity’s mom reached out for help.
"Felicity has been looking forward to her prom as she feels that this will be the point where she can show them (the bullies) that they can't hurt her anymore," her mother Kathryn Warburton wrote in a Facebook post. "They have bullied her so much she has even contemplated suicide in the past year, so I really want her prom to be everything she wants and needs it to be," she added.
With a heart full of hope, Kathryn reached out to the WAC Motorcycle Club. She had hoped maybe a biker or two would be willing to help make the day special. But they never imagined over 300 bikers would show up to escort this beautiful teenage girl with Aspergers to prom.
Dawn Thomas said, a member of the WAC Motorcycle Club, “We were initially contacted by Felicity's mom Kathryn to see if we would provide a few of us on bikes to escort her to her prom. There were a few other groups involved and we ended up with over 300 bikes escorting Felicity on the ride of her life.”
Bikers Unite For Beautiful Reason
Even though Felicity only lives less than five miles from the school, it took more than 30 minutes because bikers continued to arrive in droves. This sweet girl who thought she was worthless was reminded by over 300 escorts that her life is beyond precious.

"She was abused every day and it crushed her but we felt that after Monday night we could see our lovely, bubbly Felicity really enjoying herself," her father, Rich said. "She's an amazing girl and she hasn't deserved any of this, so to see her light up like a Christmas tree was absolutely fantastic," Rich shared.
"When she sat on that trike and I looked at her, it was like time stood still and I just thought 'we've got our daughter back,’” he added.
What a stunning way to show kindness. Not only did this group kick the tires and light the fires—they lit up the night with compassion and reminded one young lady she is worth far more than she will ever know!
