Stranger Picked Up A Single Mom's Tab, Which Meant So Much

When Suzanne Maughan took her daughter out for breakfast, a stranger named Mary couldn't stop watching them. For Mary, it was a blessing to watch this loving mom and daughter enjoying time together. So, Mary decided to give them a blessing, too. But when this complete stranger picked up a single mom's tab, she probably never realized just how much that blessing would mean! Mary's own daughter is now all grown up and living far away. So, when she saw Suzanne and her daughter eating at the table next to her, she couldn't help but look over and smile. [rsnippet id="3"] When Suzanne began cutting her daughter's pancakes, Mary leaned over and said:
"You must have the best mom in the whole world. Never forget how amazing she is."
Suzanne and her daughter occasionally struck up conversation with Mary throughout the meal. But mostly, Mary just sat back with a smile and watched the mommy and daughter spend time together. Surely it took her back to the days when her own daughter was young. Mary left before Suzanne and her little girl were done eating. But before she did, she stopped and paid their bill. God's Work

Suzanne had no idea until the waitress brought over a copy of the receipt. On it, Mary had written:
"Thank you for sharing your mother day and daughter day with me. Mary."

It was such a kind gesture. But Mary didn't realize just how much it would mean to Suzanne. She explained on Facebook, saying:
"Mary doesn't know I'm a single mother of two. She doesn't know how difficult this week has been for me. She doesn't know my anxieties and insecurities and how much I pray to not feel so lonely. But God knows. And today, Mary listened to that prompting and was able to be our angel, to remind us how loved we are. So thank you, Mary. You have made such a difference in my life with your kindness."
God works in such mysterious and amazing ways. Sometimes we think we're just doing something nice. But God often directs our kindness to the ones who need it most, when they need it most. Big or small, let God use your kindness to bless someone who really needs it! "For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed," says Yahweh who has mercy on you."
