Pit bulls so often get a bad rap. But pups like Sasha are working hard to change that. When a blazing fire threatened her family, including a 7-month-old girl, this heroic pit bull dragged the baby out of her bed to safety!
Sasha and 7-month-old Masailah were born just days apart. And the two are just crazy about each other. Sasha loves to cover Masailah in puppy kisses. And the two often share a bed and even take baths together!

So, when a roaring fire broke out, Sahsa was ready to do anything to keep her family, especially little Masailah, safe.
It was a Sunday night and Sasha was in the backyard of the family's fourplex apartment in California. Latana Chai, Masailah's mom, was in bed when a commotion woke her up.
Sasha was throwing her body against the back door while frantically barking. Latana opened the door to see what was wrong and Sasha instantly raced inside.
"At that moment I opened the back door and Sasha ran into our home, straight into our bedroom,” she recalled.
Latana took a peek out back to see what had gotten her normally calm dog so riled up. And what she saw was terrifying!
"I looked up and there’s black smoke coming from my neighbor’s house. You can see the flames coming out," she said.

The fire was quickly spreading to Latana's house, too, so the mom rushed back inside to the bedroom to get her daughter. But Sasha had already beat her to it!
"I ran into the room and I see Sasha," Latana explained. "She has my baby by the diaper just dragging her off the bed -- trying to get her to safety."
The pit bull dragged the baby by her diaper out of the bed. Latana had just enough time to grab Masailah, her phone, and Sasha and to dash out of the apartment before the flames consumed her home.

Before firefighters could get the fire under control, the blaze destroyed both Latana's apartment and the neighbor's, who also happens to be her cousin. She's now staying with relatives and friends and family have set up a fundraising page for donations.
But while Latana may have lost all her worldly possessions, God sent a furry angel to make sure she still has what matters most!
“I owe her everything. If it wasn’t for her, I would have still been in bed and things could have taken a worse turn,” the mom said.
