Sadie Robertson Encourages Young Christians to Bring Their Bibles to School
October 18, 2018
As a part of Focus on the Family's annual Bring Your Bible To School event, Sadie Robertson encouraged young Christians to participate. And on October 4, 2018, more than 600,000 students did just that!
Focus on the Family is a global Christian ministry that focuses on helping families around the world thrive. And every year, the organization encourages today's youth to step out in faith with the Bring Your Bible to School Day.

This year, the organization teamed up with Duck Dynasty sweetheart and well-known Christian Sadie Robertson. The star encouraged young Christians to be bold and use the event as an opportunity to celebrate religious liberty and freedom.
"Be bold, don't be afraid, it's time to do it. Go ahead and bring your Bible to school," Sadie said.

Bring Your Bible To School Spreads Vital Message
According to CBN News, some 500,000 students brought their Bibles to school for the event last year. And 2018 saw even higher numbers. According to Focus on the Family, at least 650,000 students participated in 2018, setting a wonderful example for their peers.
Focus on the Family feels this is an important event because it raises awareness of the legal right students have to bring their Bibles to school. With so much religious persecution in today's world, it's crucial our kids know their rights when it comes to faith.
"They are absolutely constitutionally guaranteed the right to bring their Bible to school, to set up a little Bible study at lunch, whatever they want to do. They just can't interrupt class time," Focus on the Family president Jim Daly said.
The First Amendment permits students to bring their Bibles to school, share the Good News with friends, pray, and participate in Christian-themed events.
Participants Share Their Thoughts
The event left lasting impacts on many of the students who participated and many of them shared testimonials.
One 17-year-old named Matthew told Focus on the Family, "At my school, I see so many of my classmates acting and making choices like the Bible is just some random book. I was excited for the chance to share my faith and stand up for what I believe in. This, to me, was the least I can do for God."

A parent named Michelle also shared her child's experience.
"My 9-year-old son, Anthony, participated in Bring Your Bible to School Day in Texas. He was a little nervous about what people would think of him in reading his Bible and sharing Jesus, so we prayed together and studied a few Scriptures before he headed to school to help him through the day. He brought 60 Bring Your Bible to School day bookmarks and cards to share with his classmates and teachers. When he came home from school, he was so excited and said there was nothing for him to be worried about because almost all his classmates wanted a bookmark and card. Out of 60 bookmarks he brought, he came back with 13 left."
And after another successful event, even more amazing stories are rolling in.
"It's a wonderful day when kids can express their religious freedom," Jim Daly said. "Christian kids need to be able to know what their rights are. It's OK to be a Christian in this culture and express those viewpoints."
