His Baptism is Encouraging

When someone makes the decision to follow Christ and get baptized, they are publically sharing their faith. They are letting everyone know they are a part of God's family. They have confessed their sins and plan to make some serious changes going forward.

Although Russell has had his share of troubles over the years, his baptism and commitment to following a Christian life are encouraging. Russell has chosen the path to follow Christ. Choosing to do so shows true transformation, and it is always a good thing to see someone in the public eye be vocal about making this type of change in their lives.

You can see the change in his video as he shares a bit about what it feels like to be baptized and commit to Christ. "For me," he says. " I've made the decision, and I know what the decision is. I've made it for myself."

The World Can't Offer Fulfillment

Russell Brand has published several photos and videos discussing his relationship with Christianity on his social media channels over the past several months. The things of this world can't offer true, soul-level fulfillment. And that seems to have helped spark Russell's interest in coming to know Christ more.

"People are so cynical about the increasing interest in Christianity and the return to God, but to me, it’s obvious," he explained. "As meaning deteriorates in the modern world, as our value systems and institutions crumble, all of us become increasingly aware that there is this eerily familiar awakening and beckoning figure that we’ve all known all of our lives, within us and around us."

Russell is Now Wearing a Cross

The video about his baptism was posted on April 29th.

In one of Russell Brand's previous videos, he shares that he is now wearing a cross. "The reason I wear a cross is because Christianity and, in particular, the figure of Christ are it seems to me inevitably becoming more important as I become more familiar with suffering, purpose, self, and not self." the 48-year-old stated

While Russell did not embrace faith when he was younger, it is clear that he is fully doing so now. He is passionate about his baptism and the change that this new path will bring.

He stated in a video announcing his upcoming baptism a few days ago, "What's been explained to me is it's an opportunity to die and be reborn. An opportunity to leave the past behind and be reborn in Christ's name, like it says in Galatians."

Jesus Wants All Of Use to Come and Follow Him

The Bible tells us, "Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." - Acts 2:38

Jesus wants all of us to come and follow him. To be baptized and repent of our sins. As we hear of Russell Brand's baptism and conversation to Christianity, we will pray for him. Pray that he can continue to make changes for the better and follow the ways of Jesus for the rest of his life.
