More than 100 students gathered at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas for their graduation ceremony. But it wasn’t only a diploma that they were getting. They found out that all of their student debt had been cleared!
The class of 2022 at Wiley College were shocked when they heard the news from President & CEO Dr. Herman J. Felton, Jr. They all cheered when they heard about the generous gift from the donor.
The total amount that was owed by the students in the class of 2022 was $300,000. Now that is a generous amount of money to give to the school so these students can have a fresh start!
“Our commitment to our students goes beyond their time while they are enrolled,” said Dr. Felton. “We are grateful for this anonymous donor who will assist the students in paying off their balances.”
He continued: “As Wiley College closes the academic semester and prepares for its Sesquicentennial Celebrations beginning in July, this is a great way to start the celebration of 150 years of the College’s contributions to the world.”
