There are many household items that have nostalgia for us. After many visits to my grandma’s house over the years, there are definitely specific things that bring me down memory lane and remind me of her. And some of those older trends, from house décor to kitchen items, are having a resurgence and coming back in style! How many things from the list below did your grandma have in her home? How many of them do you now have in yours?
Grandma's House Had Pink-tiled Bathrooms
It’s likely that your grandma had some kind of color-tiled bathroom, specifically, pink tile! It didn’t matter if the house was built in 1920 or 1950, pink tile was all the rage back then. In addition, her bathroom most likely had some toilet rugs, decorative hand towels, and don’t forget toilet paper covers!
Loud Clock
Whether it is a cuckoo clock or grandfather clock, Grandma had some sort of loud clock in her house to remind her of the time.
Casserole Dish
Grandma’s cooking always hit the spot! And she had plenty of casserole dishes, usually with some floral print on them, to cook up something delicious for the family.
Tupperware Galore At Grandma's House
Grandma’s kitchen wasn’t complete without her signature Tupperware set. But we could also find her using old butter containers to store food in the fridge!

Grandma's House Always Had A Candy Dish
You could always count on Grandma to have hard candies at the house for her visitors to enjoy! And they were always placed in her iconic candy dish.
Cookie Jar
The cookie jar was always full at Grandma’s house! She wanted to make sure that her guests always had something to indulge in.
Jar of Buttons
In case of any last-minute sewing projects, Grandma always had a jar of buttons ready to go!
Decorative Plates
Many of the plates at Grandma’s house were very pleasing to the eyes. Even if we didn’t eat off of them very often, it was nice to look and admire the beautiful patterns on each one.
Old-Fashioned Lamp
Did your grandma have a lamp like one of these? Vintage lamps are great and seem to be coming back into style!
Shelf Liners
The patterned shelf liners in Grandma’s house always brought a little bit of cheer to her pantry and cabinets.
Crochet Blankets
Grandma’s house always had an array of cozy, crochet blankets. Most of which she made herself. Bet you still have one of these timeless blankets in your home today!
Landline Phone
Seeing a rotary phone, or any landline phone for that matter is a rare sight in today’s homes. But that was the only thing that Grandma would use to make calls back in the day. It still brings me back to her house whenever I see one.
Old Luggage
There is a sturdy and timeless look about the luggage that Grandma had. And people today are even using this type of luggage in their home décor!
Old Fashioned Perfume Bottle
Grandma’s elegant perfume bottle with a squeezable atomizer was always something fun to play with.
Doilies
Under a lamp, under the candy dish, under her beauty products…where wasn’t a place in Grandma’s house that you couldn’t find a doily?!
Your Artwork Always Has A Home At Grandma's
You probably don’t even remember when you drew that picture or made that art project, but I bet you that your grandma had your artwork on display for years after you gave it to her.
Need Old Family Photos? Check Grandma's House
You could always count on Grandma to have all of the awkward school photos and family snapshots framed and placed all around the house.
Stacks of Newspapers and Magazines
Since the internet or social media was not the place where Grandma got her news like people do today, you could always find piles of newspapers and magazines stacked all around her house.
