Folks Hear A Baby Animal Barking But Call For Help As They Realize It's Not Actually A Dog

Several people came to the aid of a wild animal, a muntjac deer, who was signaling its desperate need for help by barking like a dog.

Everyone, whether they’d like to admit it or not, needs help. Someone may be struggling financially, physically, emotionally or spiritually, but be too afraid or proud to ask for help. Animals, as it turns out, also need help from time to time. Instead of letting pride get in the way, as humans do, animals sound the alarm when in trouble.

One member of the wildlife community, a muntjac deer in Thailand, was not shy when it came to letting those around that it was frightened and needed help, according to The Dodo.

The outlet reports that the baby deer was spotted running around near a pack of dogs by several people in a village in the Asian country. However, the animal was not playing with the canines. Instead, it started barking, signaling that the dogs were not playmates but were instead predators.

The tiny animal, who was only a few days old at the time, was all alone and was in desperate need of help. Those who spotted the distressed animal reached out to the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand.

Group Rescued Baby Deer, Took It To Vet and Got It Medical Care

The Dodo reports that several people from the WFFT rushed to the scene. After a few days, they were able to successfully catch the deer, who had since been named Chao Lao. Chao Lao was transported to a nearby wildlife hospital, where it started receiving medical assistance.

The tiny creature is still receiving medical care, building its strength as it enjoys daily walks at the animal hospital.

In a social media post, the WFFT states that if not for the villagers' concern, the deer wouldn't have survived.

“He was being chased by street dogs, and likely would not have survived much longer without veterinary care,” the  post reads.

All need a helping hand now and then. In the case of the baby deer, the assistance it received was likely the difference between life and death.
