There’s no denying that a mom working from home is the queen of multitasking, these days more than ever. But one daughter got an up-close look at how well her mother balances work and home life during COVID.
For Colleen Chulis, it seems her daughter Adelle not only got all of her mother’s good looks, but her smarts, and a little bit of humor too. The 8-year-old does an impression of her mom working from home and completely nails it!

The job description for motherhood is endless between being a chef, a nurse, a baker, a chauffeur, an event planner, sleep coach, toddler wrangler, accountant, maid, teacher, personal assistant, and teacher. And that’s not even all we do! But we wear a million different hats because it’s a labor of love.
During COVID as families began to shelter in place, millions of kids got a personal view of what their mothers actually do. Kitchen tables and spare bedrooms became home offices.

With her mom working from home, Colleen’s daughter, Adelle, not only got to see what a job in sales looks like but so much more. She also got to see how hard her mom works to ensure every deadline is met, every zoom call is answered, and every child is fed, clothed, and ready for school. But Adelle wanted her mom to know she gets it and asked if she could impersonate her mom.
"My 8-year-old daughter asked me last night if she could do an impression of me. I wasn't sure what to expect,” she said. In the clip, Adelle channels her mom’s wonder woman power as she pretends to be on a work call. She sits at her mom’s desk and pretends to be “interrupted,” by her kids. Adelle then gets into full-on “mom mode” as she snaps her fingers to get her kids’ attention while still being calm and gracious on the phone. Adelle attempts to get the kids to be quiet, go get ready for school by pointing, whispering, and even telling the person on the work call how “crazy” the kids are today.
Like mother, like daughter--Adelle nails it! Yes, Adelle, you completely captured how millions of moms everywhere work hard at balancing their jobs, their homes, and loving their kids!

In fact, Colleen thought it was such a good impression, she posted it to her LinkedIn account. But she never expected it to go viral with more than 9.8 million views. That’s a lot of moms who are laughing and shaking their heads, “Yes, baby girl, that’s how we do it!”
Colleen posted, "I figured many of you might relate (and laugh) with the snapping and the multi-tasking. Covid changed a lot of things this past year and this has been a lot of my reality!" She added, “"I'm on video, and I work in sales so I'm talking to customers a lot. I think the challenge for me is I'm presenting on PowerPoint and the kids are like, 'Can you get me an [ice pop]?' They'll pass notes under the door ... it's the day-to-day stuff that happens."
And all the moms out there said, “Amen!” Colleen, we couldn’t agree more. Your daughter captured our hearts and why we work as hard as we do while loving them as best as we can.
