Mom Gives Birth To Quadruplets And Then Gets Brutally Honest With Before And After Photos

After a mom gives birth to quadruplets, she decides to share before and after photos. And Lindsay Hay's honesty about her journey is so inspiring!

Before this mom gave birth to quadruplets, she experienced a very difficult season while trying for her "second child."

Lindsay met her husband, Syman, while abroad and the two had a whirlwind romance. The two married and Syman, originally from Australia, moved to the United States with Lindsay so they could start their life together.

In no time, the happy couple had their first child -- a son named Carson. Lindsay and Syman both wanted a big family so they started trying for more kids.

Before this mom would give birth to quadruplets, she would endure a difficult journey. In their quest to have another baby, Lindsay ended up suffering 5 miscarriages.

“You carry the pain of miscarriage with you wherever you go," she says. "And even after being on the other side with my rainbow babies here, it still hurts. I don’t think I’ll ever fully heal. It definitely made me stronger, though , and gave me new perspective and appreciation for just how big of a miracle these babies and all babies really are.“

Couple's Prayers For More Kids Answered

Syman and Lindsay Hay enlisted the help of doctors and fertility specialists. Still, it got to the point where Lindsay felt like she'd never hold a newborn baby in her arms again.

But then, God sent a miracle... well, 4 miracles!

When Lindsay found out she was pregnant with quadruplets, she couldn't believe it. And she struggled to shake the impact of her 5 previous miscarriages.

"I honestly didn’t think the pregnancy would progress and prepared myself for miscarriage," Lindsay Hay recalls. "There was just a lot of uncertainty, fear, and surprise."

Adding to the stress, Lindsay's doctors wanted her to consider terminating some of her miracle babies. Because of Lindsay's small build, they felt this mom giving birth to quadruplets put her at too great of a risk.

“It was very somber in that ultrasound room,” she said. “I’m 5-foot-2 and was about 115 pounds at the time and they said my body wouldn’t be able to handle it. They were very adamant about it being unsafe.”

But there was no way Lindsay Hay was going to give up on her 4 miracles!

Mom Fights To Keep Babies Safe

The pregnancy certainly wasn't easy. The nausea and fatigue were intense. And as the doctors suspected, carrying such a large belly was hard on Lindsay's small body.

But Lindsay fought to keep her 4 babies growing and "on the inside" for as long as possible. Doctors even had to perform a special procedure when her cervix started thinning too much at 20 weeks.

But Lindsay Hay kept focusing on her blessings.

In fact, she posted a 20-week photo on Instagram, saying, "This time last year I was miscarrying for the 2nd time and had no idea I was going to face 3 more after that. Now I have FOUR babies in this belly. FOUR!"

After fighting so hard for a chance to carry more babies, Lindsay appreciated the gift of this pregnancy, no matter how hard it was on her. And she snapped and shared photos of her ever-expanding belly throughout the pregnancy.

But after the mom gave birth to quadruplets, it was her before and after photos that really got people talking!

"The day my doctor said it was time was probably the first time I truly believed they’d be mine," the mom said of giving birth to her quadruplets. "There’s really no comparing it to my singleton pregnancy. With Carson, I was blissfully unaware of all that could go wrong and enjoyed every moment."

But at last, here they were -- 4 beautiful, healthy babies!

Lindsay Hay carried her quadruplets "on the inside" for 30 weeks and 4 days. So, 30 weeks and 4 days after this mom gave birth to her quadruplets, she decided to post a before and after photo on social media.

And the touching image, along with what Lindsay had to say, quickly went viral!

"Full hands, full heart is an understatement!" Lindsay Hay explained. "They have surpassed every hope and dream I had envisioned during my pregnancy and even though time is passing quickly I know the best is yet to be. Behind these babies are new marks, rolls, and skin you can’t see but they also came with new strengths I didn’t have before either. We have been so BLESSED and I won’t ever let myself take this life for granted."
