Mom Delivers Toddler-Sized Baby That Was Biggest Doctors Had Seen

When Chrissy Corbitt went into her fourth and final pregnancy, she wasn't planning on going out with a bang. But she did just that when she gave birth to a toddler-sized baby!

Chrissy Corbitt of Florida is no stranger to big babies. Her first two children arrived weighing 9 and 10 pounds, respectively. Even so, during her fourth pregnancy, she never expected a baby quite so big!

During the pregnancy, Chrissy's belly just kept growing and growing.

"The belly was getting bigger and bigger," Chrissy's husband Larry explained. "It was like she had a huge beach ball and it was getting more and more inflated.”

Even with her massive pregnant belly, her newborn daughter's weight came as a shock.

In 2017, Chrissy went into labor about a week before her due date. And as not-so-little Carleigh Corbitt made her appearance via c-section, no one could believe it!

"When the baby was coming out, I was like, ‘Is this baby ever going to end?’” joked  Dr. Eric Edelenbos.

The reaction from the medical staff had Chrissy baffled at first.

“I heard everybody cheering in the operating room," she said. "I’ve never had that happen before.”

And after having already delivered three babies before, Chrissy was curious about this first. And one peek at her newborn left Chrissy equally blown away by her super-sized miracle!

“When the pediatrician showed her to me across the curtain, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s huge,’” Chrissy Corbitt said. “I couldn’t believe it. It was like I delivered a toddler.”

The couple's beautiful daughter, Carleigh Corbitt, arrived weighing 13 pounds, 5 ounces. In fact, she's the biggest baby Chrissy's OB-GYN has ever delivered!

But, of course, the couple was just glad their gorgeous newborn daughter was here and healthy!

Going Out With A Bang

When Carleigh returned for her 3-week checkup, she was already wearing baby clothes made for a 9-month-old. But she was happy and healthy and that's what mattered most to her proud parents, who have already said this would be their last pregnancy.

“We went out with a bang,” Larry joked. “This is our last kid."

And while Carleigh never got to use much of her newborn items, Chrissy and Larry donated them at church. And despite much ado about Carleigh's weight, it turns out giving birth to a toddler-sized baby isn't all that different. Her proud parents are enjoying those precious moments of snuggles just as much!
