Heroic Police Dog Finds Missing 2-Year-Old Boy And Finds He's Not Alone

Dogs truly are man’s best friend, protector, and perhaps even guardian angels covered in fur. At least it was for one missing 2-year-old boy who was rescued by a guardian angel police dog, named, Kilo.

When it was discovered that the toddler had wandered off, the family immediately contacted local authorities who jumped into action to search for him. When it seemed like he might not be found, the search party used drones. But it was Kilo and her nose that found the boy.

Her owner, Duane Kemna, said Kilo locked on to the toddler’s scent quickly before finding him .6 miles from home. That’s because God created a dog’s world to be entirely different from a human.

We tend to use our sense of smell, taste, touch, and sight to gather information. But for dogs, it’s all in the olfactory neurons, in other words, the nose! In fact, God created animals like dogs to track the hundreds of different scents one person produces that are unique to them. And what a blessing dogs are in situations like these.

But searchers including Kilo and her handler Duane were in for a surprise when they finally found the toddler. He wasn’t alone!

In fact, he was being guarded by his own dog--the family’s friendly furry member who more than likely kept him from harm. When the toddler was found, he was wet and undressed. He had waded through a creek and took off his shoes and socks.

Imagine and the horror and relief mixed with heaven-sent prayers that God kept this sweet little toddler from harm. And even more thankful praises for the animals God gave us not only to have dominion over but to have as our guardians, protectors, and companions too.

A Prayer for Those Who Are Lonely or Isolated This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 23

This Christmas, remember how precious you are to the Creator. Remember that there is nothing you can do or say that would ever separate His presence and love from you. It’s okay to go through Christmas feeling alone and isolated, but make sure you turn to God to fill those feelings of loneliness.
