Megan Danielle on American Idol pays tribute to her late granddad with an incredible performance of "Go Rest High On That Mountain."
The number of contestants remaining on American Idol is now in the single digits. What started out as hundreds have been cut all the way down to just eight performers. To capture enough votes to continue and become the next American Idol, the remaining contestants will have to raise their game.

Megan Danielle on American Idol is one of those contestants who has only gotten better with every appearance on the American Idol stage. Not only has her confidence, singing and stage presence significantly improved from her first audition, but she has used her voice to sing praise to the Lord.
In her latest performance, Megan sang Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High on that Mountain.”
With her song, Megan honored her late grandfather, who encouraged her in her musical ambitions.

On Instagram, after singing the song, Megan posted: “This was one of my most challenging performances but what a way to honor my papa.”
What a way, indeed!
As she has all season on American Idol, Megan Danielle knocked it out of the park. Her country/Christian music sound and beautiful delivery of the song’s touching and moving lyrics worked perfectly.
The crowd also adored Megan’s stellar performance. Seconds into the song, several members of the studio shout and scream in utter joy at the beautiful sounds coming from the stage.
At the conclusion of her performance, everyone in the room, including the judges, erupted in a loud and well-deserved round of applause.
How Megan Danielle made it through that American Idol performance without breaking down in tears is beyond me. The young woman had previously sung “Go Rest High on that Mountain” at her grandfather’s funeral, according to CountryNow.com.
