6-Year-Old Boy at McDonald's Drive-Thru Starts a Chain Reaction That's Truly Inspiring

While stopping at a McDonald's drive-thru, 6-year-old Blake Durham unwittingly set off a chain reaction. And the little boy proved that just one small act of kindness can make a huge impact!

The coronavirus pandemic made 2020 a tough year for everyone. And 6-year-old Blake Durham decided he wanted to do something kind to help lift someone's spirits.

So, the sweet little boy from England asked his mom, Amy, for a special favor.

Blake requested a stop at the McDonald's drive-thru so they could pay for the car in line behind them. But while waiting for their own breakfast, they discovered Blake's kind deed had multiplied!

"We had to wait in a bay for our food," the boy's mom, Amy, explained. "And when we did, the lady came out and told me everyone was now paying for the car behind and they are so happy and smiling."

McDonald's Drive-Thru Shows Boy's Heart

Blake Durham is no stranger to hard times. The 6-year-old suffers from severe epilepsy and has faced his own struggles with incredible optimism.

"He's been so ill," Amy explained. "We've nearly lost him twice but you'd never know what he's gone through."

God certainly gave this tiny boy a huge heart. Despite his own illness, Blake's family says he's regularly thinking of others, just like at the McDonald's drive-thru. He voluntarily helps his mom around the house, he's built a bird garden for his siblings, and he's always going outside to take care of the birds.

Blake's "mega proud" Nana describes her grandson as an “amazing, beautiful, kind boy who fights his epilepsy like a warrior.”

"He's such a little brave boy with a massive heart of gold," she said.

At only 6 years old, Blake set an example for all of us at the McDonald's drive-thru. Sometimes it just takes one person doing something kind for the rest to follow.

And that's exactly what happened when Blake and his mom paid it forward that morning. One-by-one, each car behind them did the same.

"Just think that chain reaction was caused by my little six-year-old’s gorgeous heart," Amy said. “It costs barely anything to be kind. We are so happy we have spread some positivity."

In a world already so full of hate, each one of us can make the decision to spread love and kindness, just like Blake did at the McDonald's drive-thru!

A Prayer for Unity in the Church This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 22

It’s easy to take offense when someone hurts you, or you’re frustrated with where you are in life, and it seems as though everyone around you is thriving. But, when we take an honest look at ourselves and see how God loves us (1 Corinthians 13), we realize we have no right to hold any grudges against our brothers and sisters.
