A job of a school teacher is probably one of the most important jobs in our society. Teachers spend long hours with children and work really hard to help educate them. But sadly, teachers are not valued as they should be. And that is what this man expresses in his video. James’ wife is a public-school teacher in Tulsa, and some of the teachers are going on a strike because they are not getting paid and compensated fairly. But after watching this video, I am sure those people who support this argument would change their minds. James compares his salary and benefits as a white-collar professional to his wife's. He wrote down in a clear list the benefits he receives in comparison to hers on a whiteboard. She does not get paid vacation or paid maternity leave. James, on the other hand, gets 21 days of paid vacation and 6 weeks of maternity leave. Even after having to work all day, she still has to bring work home that she does not get additional compensation for. And she also has to pay out of her own pocket for items that she needs to perform her job.
