Mom of Little Boy with Down Syndrome Sobs When Only 1 Person Shows for His Birthday

A little boy with Down syndrome is teaching the world about inclusivity and kindness in a devastatingly simple lesson. Just show up. Be present. Show up to a birthday party. Acknowledge people with Down syndrome are people too.

Where’s this lesson coming from? His mother, a TikTok user by the name of Nosilla865 is the blessed mother of Jude, a little boy with Down syndrome. This heartbroken mom sobs when one lone person shows for his birthday.

That’s right. One person. One child showed up for Jude’s birthday. It was a simple birthday party drive-by she organized to celebrate Jude’s fifth year of living on this incredible planet. Birthdays are a time of blessings, gratefulness, fun, and celebration. Birthdays are meant to be shared with others in the joy of what came before and the year to come. They are meant to celebrate a person.

But as Nosilla and Jude anticipated friends coming to celebrate, Nosilla felt the time tick by slowly as her heart began to break when only one person drove by. She then realized it was a blessing her little boy with Down syndrome was unaware. But her heart had been wrenched in two.

Not knowing what else to do, she took to TikTok to remind the world to do this one thing: Just show up.

Mother's Desperate Plea For Compassion

More than six million people in this world have Down syndrome. There are millions of others on this planet with different disabilities. And they all deserve kindness, love, respect, inclusivity, and celebration. God knitted each one together to be the exact reflection of His glory. And it’s our job to celebrate each other.

Nosilla, let me be the first to wish little Jude a belated happy birthday. May he be blessed with a year filled with kindness and God’s blessings. Thank you for being brave and sharing your heart to remind us all of the power of kindness.
