26-year-old Kymberli Joye is from Windsor, Connecticut. And since the start of her journey on The Voice, she has been open about her faith.
During the live top 10 performances, Kymberli selected a worship song that is very near and dear to her heart. She brought the crowd to their feet with her stunning rendition of Hillsong United’s "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)."
“You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery In oceans deep
My faith will stand”
Many people love this worship song, but Kymberli feels a special connection to the Hillsong hit.
“For a long time, I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety and that was one of the songs that really helped flip the switch and let me know that there was light at the end of the tunnel and it helped me to seek out help,” Kymberli said, according to People magazine.
I’m sure the special words of this song have given hope to so many others around the world and, now, Kymberli is helping to spread that inspiring message.
“And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine”
What a beautiful reminder that with God by our side, there is truly nothing we cannot face. Kymberli is such an inspiration and I hope we continue to see more of her on The Voice.
