No wonder this wholesome video went viral. One of this mama cat’s kittens struggled with the intimidating staircase. As his mom started her way upstairs, the baby looked up as if the stairs were Mount Everest. Can you blame the little guy? There wasn’t even a carpet to hold on to!

It only took mama cat seconds to realize she didn’t hear the pitter-patter of her baby’s paws behind her. She clearly understood that he needed a little more time and encouragement.
Mama decided to take it slow with the little kitten learning to climb stairs, one step at a time. She kept looking back down at her baby and then forward again as if trying to encourage him to keep trying.
She definitely could have just picked him up in her mouth and carried him, but just like human mothers, she knew that it was time for him to do it on his own.

Side by side, the two made their way up the stairs. It’s like having his mom right there cheering him on gave him the confidence he needed to take on those scary steps. Just look how quickly they made it up those few steps in the middle!
Mama cat sped up the last couple steps, and the baby clearly felt overwhelmed for a second. But there she was, turned around at the top waiting for him. She knew he could do it.

Sure enough, the precious baby pounced to the top to join his mom and all the other kitties. Way to go, little guy!
