Internet Responds When Woman Expecting Triplets Shows Her 'Strange' Bump Online

Childbirth is beautiful. But it isn't always easy. A mom expecting triplets turned to social media to document her (sometimes uncomfortable) pregnancy. There, she shared openly about her 'strange' bump and postpartum body. And the Internet responded in the most amazing way!

Today, it always seems as if we're hearing stories of how folks are using social media for online bullying, body-shaming, and much more. So, it's refreshing to hear something positive. And that's what makes Maria Nordø Jørstad's online experience so awesome.

Maria (36) already has a two-year-old son. So, it must have come as quite a surprise when she found out her pregnancy with Baby #2 also included Baby #3 and Baby #4!

Mom Expecting Triplets Shares Experience Online

Maria decided to document her pregnancy on Instagram. She's behind the account @triplets_of_copenhagen. That's where she's been sharing pics of her little ones' growth.

And seeing her unbelievably large belly is an incredible reminder of just how amazing women's bodies are. God designed them to carry and deliver His miracles!

Maria couldn't help but marvel at it, too.

"It’s strange to have ended up with such a big belly and it’s even stranger that it can stand out like that without falling down!" she joked in a photo collage documenting her tummy's "massive growth."

Of course, carrying three babies at once isn't exactly easy. So, sometimes Maria spoke the truth about her very real discomfort. From the rashes, aches and pains, Braxton Hicks contractions, and ginormous belly, she was definitely carrying out a "labor" of love.

But overall, Maria remained upbeat and positive. And her followers on Instagram helped her do so by cheering her on when the days got hard. In addition to words of encouragement, some even sent gifts for the baby!

And all of this kindness from strangers helped keep Maria going.

Mom Gets Real Online

After welcoming three beautiful babies via c-section, two girls and a boy, Maria found herself relying on her online cheerleaders more than she likely expected!

Pregnancy changes a woman's body forever. And while the stretch marks and loose skin are left behind by the amazing, miraculous job only a woman's body can do, it can sometimes be hard to see their beauty in our image-conscious society.

Four weeks after the mom expecting triplets delivered, Maria struggled to accept her postpartum body. And while she could have kept it all private, she took a bold step and decided to post a pic online.

"For me, it’s important to show an honest picture of what I’m going through as a mom to triplets," she explained.

In her post, Maria opened up about how she felt.

"I still have a weird looking hanging belly, and I am a bit surprised it has not gotten smaller since my last picture three weeks ago. Kind of disappointing I must admit."

And what's amazing is how folks from all over continued to lift Maria up.

Support For Mom Of Triplets Pours In

Comments of encouragement rolled in like crazy.

"You got this girl!"

"Don't lose your confidence!"

"It’s amazing what the human body can do. Nothing but respect for you."

"Your body is beautiful for it brought three beautiful babies into this world."

And all of those messages sent a powerful message to Maria.

"I’m blown away by all the support I got after posting my postpartum pictures," she said. "People I don’t know from all around the world have written the nicest things to me."

A Prayer for Unity in the Church This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 22

It’s easy to take offense when someone hurts you, or you’re frustrated with where you are in life, and it seems as though everyone around you is thriving. But, when we take an honest look at ourselves and see how God loves us (1 Corinthians 13), we realize we have no right to hold any grudges against our brothers and sisters.
