One family in Connecticut made a shocking discovery under their deck -- a hibernating black bear! And once the news got out online, their unexpected house guest became an internet sensation!
Everyone knows that dogs are man’s best friend. Also, most are aware that cats are extremely lazy. They really, really love their sleep. Likewise, most people, if they mistakenly walked into bear territory, would move swiftly in the other direction. But what if a bear decided to come and hang out at your place?

One family in Connecticut is dealing with that exact issue. A Black bear has made its way to them, taking up residency underneath their deck. A video of the wild houseguest has gone viral, racking up millions of views on social media.
Vincent Dashukewich was outside walking his dog when the canine sensed something was astray. The dog began barking and that’s when Vincent made the shocking discovery.
“I didn’t really have a thought, I was just kind of shocked. He was staring right at me. I didn’t know what to do, I just wanted to make sure my dog got inside safe,” he told WTNH, a TV station in Connecticut.

The massive hibernating black bear does not appear to have any plans to move anytime soon. Also, like most animals people encounter, Vincent decided to give his wildlife houseguest a name: Marty.
While the animal continues to make its hibernation spot on Tyler’s property, he admits the black bear hasn’t been a noisy or rowdy guest.
“He’s been super chill; I’ve gone out to check on him a few times and he hasn't really moved. He’s looked at me a few times but he’s, you know, he’s pretty calm right now,” Tyler said.
At this time, at least not yet, it appears that the hibernating black bear’s living arrangement has not become unbearable for Tyler and his family.
