A burglar tried breaking into a home in Spanaway, Washington, only to find a grandma with a gun waiting for him on the other side. And this granny sure knew how to handle herself during the frightening encounter!
Sandy was home alone in her house in Spanaway when her beloved dog, Booboo, started barking up a storm. The 78-year-old woman went to the door to see what could be triggering her furry alarm.

And she found quite a surprise waiting for her on the other side of the door!
"Standing right 2, 3 feet in front of me was a man," Sandy says.
The neighborhood had recently seen a slew of crime. And this would-be burglar no doubt thought grandma's house would be an easy target.
But he couldn't have been more wrong!
After Sandy opened the door, the man tried to turn and walk away.
"I said, ‘Oh no, you don’t. You stay right there!’” Sandy explained. “I reached over and got my shotgun. And I cocked it, and I told him to stay right there.”

The grandma with a gun didn't show it, but she recalled feeling "scared to death" at first. But then, God gave her the peace she needed as she waited on the police to arrive.
"Then I was totally calm, really and truly," she says. “After he was so meek and mild and sat down like I told him to do? It was empowering. I felt like at least I was in charge. I wasn’t afraid.”
Thankfully, the police soon arrived. And they were able to arrest the man, all thanks to the grandma with a gun.
Sandy was just grateful she had the presence of mind to respond the way she did and that no one was hurt.
