NFL Football Player Gets Baptized Surrounded By His Teammates
There is nothing like seeing someone make the life-changing decision of accepting Christ as their savior and making that profession through baptism. And watching as this football player gets baptized will move you to tears.   Marcus Johnson is a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles football team. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is an outspoken Christian who shares his faith and love of Jesus with his teammates. Carson told the Philadelphia Inquirer,
“I always tell people, for example, ‘If you love your job, you love your wife, you love what you do, you’re going to talk about it. Well, I love Jesus.’ That’s what I love, so I’m going to talk about it. But I’m not going to force it down your throat either.”

Recently, the team traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina for a game and that's when Marcus decided to do something amazing. So while his teammates held hands in a circle around him, the team chaplain baptized Marcus! He died to his old life and arose new in Christ. This special moment took places just hours before the team was to hit the field and it's so beautiful to see his teammates come out and support him.     Seeing Marcus get baptized is truly a moment of celebration, he is not the only Philadelphia Eagle who was baptized this season. In fact, 5 of his other teammates including linebackers Jordan Hicks, Mychal Kendricks and Kamu Grugier-Hill, and wide receivers Paul Turner and David Watford surrendered their lives to Christ in the team's recovery pool this season. credit: facebook.com When the Eagles took the field for the 52nd Super Bowl it is so nice to know that these men stood together and prayed, not to win but to glorify the Lord in all that they do, win or lose. I'm so glad this football player is showing his love and faith for the Lord in such a beautiful way. Welcome to the family, Marcus! credit: facebook.com

Today's Devotional

A Prayer for Unity in the Church This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 22

It’s easy to take offense when someone hurts you, or you’re frustrated with where you are in life, and it seems as though everyone around you is thriving. But, when we take an honest look at ourselves and see how God loves us (1 Corinthians 13), we realize we have no right to hold any grudges against our brothers and sisters.
