A grateful family survives a deadly tornado that tore through parts of Alabama last month. Their whole house was taken away in the storm, but they were not harmed after finding shelter in their grandmother’s prayer closet. In fact, the prayer closet was the only part of the home that was not demolished!
Unfortunately, 22 people died when the tornado hit the community. But, by the grace of God, this family was not hurt. The amazing image of the grandma’s prayer closet that was left standing was shared on Facebook by Jason Smith, a member of the response team in the community.

“Listen to me please. I just left a family who survived the tornado in this house and the only left standing is this closet. It's the grandmother's prayer closet, and the whole family survived,” explains Jason. “Are you kiddin me!!! My God is awesome!!! Shout somebody!”
Our God is awesome and what an incredibly inspiring thing to see how He protected this family! This story is also similar to another inspiring, short story where a prayer room was the only thing left standing after a devastating fire.
Even in life’s most difficult moments, God has us all in the palm of His hand. We are safe when we put our hope and trust in Him. Like it says in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
