Duck Dynasty Stars Share Their Favorite Bible Verses

You’re sure to recognize Duck Dynasty stars Jase, Missy and Mia Robertson from TV. And it’s certainly no secret that this Christian family holds strong in their faith. The family has recently been sharing more about the health issues their daughter, Mia, has been dealing with since birth.

Duck Dynasty Stars Open Up

Due to a medical oversight following the miscarriage Missy had prior to becoming pregnant with Mia, Mia was already a miracle baby when she survived the pregnancy. Doctors had originally only estimated her chances of survival at 1%. However, unrelated to the medical oversight that had endangered her life, Mia was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, which has required multiple surgeries. This set the family on a long and difficult journey for Mia’s health. Hear Missy and Jase talk about this in more detail here.

Being a faithful family, the Robertson’s have turned to God through all of the struggles. And in a recent visit at The Blaze to talk about Missy’s new book Blessed, Blessed...Blessed, the family also shared a few of their favorite Bible verses.

And here are the Duck Dynasty stars' favorite verses to help inspire you as well!

Jase -- Matthew 19:26

Jase says his “favorite” verse typically rotates through different ones based upon what’s going on in his life. The one that currently carries over is Matthew 19:26. It follows the popular exchange between Jesus and a rich, young ruler, where Jesus explains that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven. The disciples have asked him who, then, can be saved?

“Looking at them, Jesus said, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’" Matthew 19:26

Missy -- Romans 5:3-5

Missy is like Jase. She says her favorite verse changes based upon what’s going on in their lives. The verse she's been clinging to recently has everything to do with Mia’s journey -- Romans 5:3-5. It’s about how God uses suffering to shape us, and through Him we have hope.

“Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: and hope doesn't disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”  Romans 5:3-5

Mia -- Psalm 46:10

The soft spoken Mia did not elaborate on why she chose Psalm 46:10. But judging by the sweet demeanor she’s maintained through all of her struggles, it seems like just the right verse for her. Jase describes Mia, saying, “She’s so friendly, and people gravitate towards her because all the suffering she’s gone through has created this perseverance and this character and then this hope.” And we know that kind of strength comes from our Heavenly Father.

"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

What a courageous and faith filled family! May the verses they shared inspire you today. Because through Him all things are possible, and we can persevere through any suffering!
