Recently, when Jennifer Garner was turning 50, she got a big surprise from her childhood idol, Donny Osmond!

The actress was enjoying a meal out with friends when Donny Osmond snuck up behind her and started to sing her a song. Jennifer was absolutely shocked and couldn’t believe what was happening when she turned around to give him a hug. She shared about the special encounter on her Instagram page.

“My first (pre)birthday surprise was a doozy— the one and only, legend in his own time, object of my childhood adoration and devotion— @donnyosmond showed up to knock my purple socks off,” she wrote. “He took an hour and a half of his day to sit with me, sing my favorites, and to give me a master class on how to be a class act. Thank you, Donny. Hi, @marieosmond. I hope to meet you someday, Debbie.”

Jennifer and Donny hit it off like they were old pals, and the two even shared an impromptu duet together. Donny also gave Jennifer a cake that had “13 going on 50” written on it with a cute throwback photo of Jen. This was a nod to Jennifer’s beloved movie “13 Going on 30.”
