Dolly Parton Is At Home Sharing Encouraging Words We All Need To Hear During Coronavirus

The beloved Dolly Parton is at home and encourages us to “keep the faith” as she believes that we will all be better people on the other side of this coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s the light, I believe, that’s gonna dissolve the situation,” Dolly said in a recent video that she posted to her Twitter account. “I think God’s in this, I really do. I think he’s trying to hold us up to the light so we can see ourselves and see each other through the eyes of love. And I hope we learn that lesson.”

“I think that when this passes, we’re gonna all be better people,” the nine-time Grammy winner continued. “So, I know that I have a positive attitude about it, as negative as it seems to be right now. So just keep the faith. Don’t be too scared. It’s gonna be alright. God loves us.”

The videos will be called Goodnight with Dolly and will be posted on YouTube. The books that she will be featuring will come from Dolly’s Imagination Library. It will be a 10-book video series and she plans to start it off reading The Little Engine That Could.

Dolly Parton Starts Reading Program To Raise Spirits

“It is an honor for me to share the incredible talent of these authors and illustrators,” Dolly said. “They make us smile, they make us laugh, and they make us think.”

“I hope this gift will further inspire a love of books and shared storytime during this important time,” shared the singer-songwriter. “From everyone on our team, thank you so much for inspiring a love of reading in your family.  As I always say — We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails — and we’re going to do just that, together.”

The literacy advocacy program that Dolly Parton started sends books to over 850,000 children each month. And with her reading stories to children online now, she is sure to inspire so many others to find happiness and comfort in books. During this time where people are starting to feel increasingly fearful and anxious, Dolly’s message of joy and hope is just what people need to hear.

Today's Devotional

A Prayer for Unity in the Church This Christmas - Your Daily Prayer - December 22

It’s easy to take offense when someone hurts you, or you’re frustrated with where you are in life, and it seems as though everyone around you is thriving. But, when we take an honest look at ourselves and see how God loves us (1 Corinthians 13), we realize we have no right to hold any grudges against our brothers and sisters.
