Scrawny Dog Left At Shelter With A Heartbreaking Note Saying She 'Deserves A Better Life'

A scrawny dog left at the shelter with a heartbreaking note saying she ‘Deserves A Better Life.’ Imagine finding a dog trapped in a cage for months on end. Unable to fully stand up and left with no food or water. That’s what happened to a Texas dog named ‘Fruit Punch.’

An angel rescued her from the horrors she faced and left her at a shelter with a note that read, “She is very sweet and deserves a better life."

Staff at the rescue shelter were horrified when Fruit Punch arrived. The dog left at the shelter was nothing more than a furry bag of bones, covered in sores. When she tried to stand on her own, she would tremble out of weakness.

But what the staff didn’t realize is that Fruit Punch understood her purpose in life.

She knew she was meant to give love, affection, loyalty, and companionship. Somehow Fruit Punch knew she just had to hang on a little longer so she could love and be loved in return.

Dog Left At Shelter Gets A Second Chance

Animals like Fruit Punch are dropped off at the shelters in her condition, and staff fear they are so far gone there’s no hope of rehabilitation.

But Fruit Punch had some extra pawsome abilities in the realm of forgiveness and resilience. She knew not all humans were bad and decided anything is paw-sible at this point in her life.

The staff felt the same way about her and posted a plea on Facebook that read, “A little chihuahua named Fruit Punch was left at the shelter with a heartbreaking note. The two-year-old pup was brought to APA! on Wednesday, covered in pressure sores and urine. Shelter staff said Fruit Punch was so weak and skinny, she could barely stand without trembling.”

Then something extraordinary happens. Fruit Punch begins to heal, and slowly the spark for life comes back into her eyes. The scrawny dog left at the shelter begins to eat solid food, and she’s gained enough strength to stand on her own.

This precious little pooch went from facing certain death to having a second chance a life. A second chance filled with love, attention, toys, and a fur-ever family to love. While she still has a long road ahead of her, we all know one thing is certain, Fruit Punch knows what it means to have hope and perseverance.

We can’t wait for her to be adopted, and we pray God continues to keep animal rescue shelters operational until every creature finds a loving home.
