After a dog leash gets caught in an elevator, a daring rescue from a quick-thinking hero saves the day!
The man who jumped into action to save his neighbor’s Pomeranian is Johnny Mathis. The security footage is from his apartment complex in Houston, Texas. It shows his neighbor walking into the elevator as he is walking out of it. He then turns to see that the dog does not make it into the elevator before the doors close, and he quickly steps in to take the leash off the dog.

Thankfully, Mathis is able to get the leash off of the dog after working on it for a bit. The dog’s fur made the lease removal a bit difficult, but he was able to remove the leash in the end. God definitely had Johnny in the right place at the right time in order for him to save that sweet dog!
Initially, the dog’s owner feared the worst when those elevator doors closed. But she was thankful and relieved after finding out that her pet was alright.
“I think she just said ‘thank you’ and we hugged but she was just so overcome with emotion,” shared Mathis.
It just goes to show you that God has us where we are for a reason; you may never know when you’ll be in the right place at the right time to help someone out. Keep your eyes open because there are always opportunities to lend a helping hand.
