Their Dog Made a Sound in the Middle of the Night They've Never Heard and It Saved Lives

A dog alerted his owners to a danger no one saw and succeeded in protecting the neighbors. Check out this incredible video!

Dogs are said to be "man's best friend." But sometimes they can be even more than that. Lucy is an Australian Shepherd from Arlington, Washington. The local news and the Arlington Police department have highlighted her heroism. Her owner’s name is Dougles O’Connor II.

Youtube shares, “Just after 3 a.m., North County Fire/EMS and Arlington police officers were sent.” This early morning bark was the reason that these neighbors remained safe.

Dog Prevents a Life-Threatening Fire

Douglas tells the story of his heroic pooch and how the dog alerted her loved ones to danger. He sits on his couch and pets Lucy. He shares about the moment Lucy woke him and his wife:

“Loud, screaming-type bark. It was totally different than her just barking at a usual, usual bark. It was totally—woke us both up. Something’s wrong. Wow. She was trying to tell us something.'”

To his surprise, the dog alerted them that there was a fire across the street. The fire was out of control at the shed and fence, but the fire department arrived and put out the fire before it was able to reach the house. The man raves about his precious dog and how the police officers and firefighters really loved her. 

Watching this video reminds us of the Lord’s protection for us in unexpected ways. It is incredible to see how God used this dog to keep the family across the street safe.
