For doctors and nurses, prayer before work is usually done in private. But in these trying times, the need for protection from our Heavenly Father has become so evident. And seeing medical teams coming together in prayer as their shift begins is such a powerful thing to behold!
A beautiful moment was caught on camera as a large group of doctors and nurses gathered together in prayer before their work shift began.
“Let their hands bring healing and comfort to all that they care for,” says one of the nurses at the beginning of her prayer.

Medical workers decked out in scrubs and protective gear line the hallway with their hands outstretched.
“Lord, we ask you to give them wisdom and favor. We ask that you would encourage them to be the leaders you have called them to be,” the nurse continues. “Let them be confident knowing that you are guiding their every step. Lord, give them patience, strength, and most of all, love as they walk in their new paths.”
The doctors and nurses have their hands outstretched to Heaven as the prayer before work continues.
“Lord, we ask that you send them on their new journeys with open arms, knowing that they have made the right decisions,” the nurse says as she is holding back her tears. “Lord, place a hedge of protection around them and all of our staff. We lift up those that are sick, crying, and dying. That they might find comfort and peace in you. We ask this in your precious name, Jesus. Amen.”
What an encouraging thing to see all of these doctors and nurses calling on God and asking for His guidance as they go about their day. The work that they do is so important and that is not lost on them. But they know that they can do their best work when they put God first.
With all that is going on with the coronavirus, we must keep all our healthcare and hospital workers in our prayers.
