Doctor's Hilarious Prescription For Man In Need Of Marriage Advice

Doctors are usually pretty smart people. And they can figure out how to treat all kinds of problems. But when a man asked his doctor for a way to cure his wife's temper, the doctor gave him a hilarious 'prescription' his patient wasn't expecting!

Remember when you were a kid and every fairy tale marriage ended with “and they lived happily ever after?”

Well, I think we all realize that particular ending glosses over a few things! There’s actually a lot of work that goes into happy marriages, which is what makes the following fictional story so funny.

And while this anecdote may be written from the perspective of the husband, I’m a wife, and can tell you there are plenty of times I could put the good doctor’s advice to use on myself!

So, keep reading to learn this doctor’s prescription for a happy spouse!

Like many inspiring movies and books, this short story may be fictional. However, the impact that this work will have on its readers is very real. Enjoy!

Doctor's Cure For Wife's Temper

A man goes to the Doctor, worried about his wife’s temper.

The doctor asks, “What’s the problem?”

The man says, “Doctor, I don’t know what to do. Every day my wife seems to lose her temper for no reason. It scares me.”

The doctor says, “I have a cure for that. When it seems that your wife is getting angry, just take a glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don’t swallow it until she either leaves the room or calms down.”

Two weeks later, the man comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

The man says, “Doctor, that was a brilliant idea! Every time my wife started losing it, I swished with water. I swished and swished, and she calmed right down! How does a glass of water do that?”

The doctor says, “The water itself does nothing. It’s keeping your mouth shut that does the trick.”

I hope reading this brought you a smile! It couldn’t help but make me think the following from Proverbs 21:23:

“Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.”

Sound advice -- not just for marriage, but for all relationships!
