Instead, the “Mary Poppins” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” star recorded a duet with his lovely wife, Arlene.
In the video posted on YouTube, Dick Van Dyke and his wife Arlene sing and dance to “Young at Heart.” To make the moment even more iconic, Dick discovers the microphone he’ll be singing into was used by none other than Frank Sinatra.

“Young at Heart” is a lovely upbeat song about living, aging gracefully, and enjoying life. The tune also points out that age is just a number and that being “young at heart,” and remaining open to new experiences and opportunities is what counts.

At approximately the 3:45-minute mark in the clip, the video cuts to Dick and Arlene in formal wear, dancing together. Dick shows that when it comes to dancing, there is no match. His moves would put men more than half his age to shame!
The video quickly shifts once again and shows elderly individuals living, laughing and just enjoying life. If you look closely, you may even spot some recognizable faces. That includes Tony Bennett, Stan Lee, Betty White, Mel Brooks and Kirk Douglas.
At the beginning of the clip, Dick Van Dyke makes a wise statement that perfectly sums up the message of his and his wife's catchy tune.
