At a Dairy Queen drive-thru in Minnesota nearly 1,000 customers paid for the car behind them. And all it took was one act of kindness to spark a chain reaction!
Have you ever approached a drive-thru window prepared to pay for your order, only to be told the customer before you already paid your bill?

Well, that's exactly what happened for nearly 1,000 customers at the Dairy Queen drive-thru after one act of kindness got it started.
Tina Jensen, general manager of the Dairy Queen in Minnesota said it’s not unheard of for customers to pay for what the person behind them ordered as a random act of kindness. Typically when this happens, it will last for fifteen to twenty cars but the spirit of giving swept through that drive through like God’s breath in the breeze!
It all started when the first customer paid for his drink and left the money for the customer next in line. Then one customer after the next, some prompted and others not, paid it forward perpetually for 1,000 cars.

Tina shared that the recipient of the first act of kindness was surprised to learn that the man in front of her had paid for her order.
“She’s like, ‘Really? Why would he do that?’” she recalled. “I said, ‘We just have it every once in a while where someone will take care of the person behind them, and today is your lucky day.’” She also shared the last customer of the day paid $10 to start it back up the next day. Then, someone called to donate an additional $80 to help kick things off even further on Friday.
“One lady, she was so excited, she threw us a $20 bill, almost in tears. ‘Are you serious? This is really going on?’” Tina said. “I said, ‘Yep, you are about 125 cars into it.’ She said, ‘For real? Can you believe this?’
This simple act of giving for ice cream helped restore the faith of one woman. Heidi Bruse stopped by the Dairy Queen drive-thru and took part on Friday night, and that she felt as though it had helped “restore [her] faith in humanity.”
“The way the world is now, you see a lot of anger, tension and selfish behavior,” she said. “What we witnessed was pure kindness and it was a breath of fresh air really.”

By the time the chain of giving at the Dairy Queen drive-thru broke, more than 10,000 orders had been paid for. “Wow. It’s hard for us to come up with the right words to say,” the store wrote on Facebook. “THIS is what we stand for, THIS is Dairy Queen… You brought smiles and maybe even a little tears to our whole crew and we’re sure to you as well.”
This is what Jesus stood for. Over 2,000 years ago, God Paid It Forward! (John 3:16).
He knew we couldn’t afford the sin-debt we owed, so He sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay our bill. Jesus continued the chain by giving up His life for each of us. What an incredible act of kindness that started with one kindred soul.
