Originally though, Bo didn’t want to be on TikTok. He’s a very private person and he didn’t really like being online in the first place. But it was his daughter Emily’s idea.
Emily Petterson suffered from a traumatic brain injury and was trying to find her place in the world as she recovered. She knew she would always have her dad who would always be there for her. But that got her thinking about all the other people in the world who didn’t have a dad. Her perspective changed Bo’s mind and overnight, he became a viral sensation because of his positive dad messages and fatherly advice.
When Kelly Clarkson asked the father-daughter duo to come on her show, Emily and Bo Petterson were humbled and excited to share why they started the Dad Advice From Bo TikTok channel in the first place. But as Emily shared about her brain injury and how her dad was always there for her, her answers brought Kelly to tears. Kelly thanked Bo for his kindness and putting good out into the world. And I think we need to thank Bo too. The world needs more kindness and fatherly advice. What an incredible blessing we can find on TikTok.
