Couple Finds Lost Ring In a Snowy Wonderland During Engagement Photo Shoot

During an engagement photo shoot, a couple finds their lost wedding ring in a snowy wonderland! Phil Mui, 34, proposed to Kim Zaw, 33, and their love story now includes a tale they will laugh about every winter for years to come. It’s a story about love, loss, and a very determined groom!

Phil had just proposed to Kim the day before, and with her new sprinkling engagement ring in hand–instead of on her hand–they headed to Park City, Utah, for an engagement photoshoot. The snowy mountains and the time of year created a picturesque backdrop, but little did they know that this dreamy setting would turn into a whirlwind of emotions.

Kim Realized The Ring Wasn’t On Her Hand

Not long into their wintery session, Kim realized the ring wasn’t on her hand when the photographer asked to pose Kim with her wedding ring hand on Phil’s chest. All the sparkle left her eyes as panic took over.

“Ten minutes into the shoot, we lose the ring,” Phil said and added, “Hearts are sinking, we’re kinda freaking out a little bit.”

The couple retraced every step. "We did a pose where we picked up snow and threw it in the air and then we did another pose where we picked up snow and blew it at the camera at our photographer and I think it was that moment where it was so cold that I shook my hands to kind of just warm up and it fell off," Kim said.

Strangers and Ski Patrol Got Involved in the Search

Cue the panic. Even strangers and the Park City Ski Patrol got involved to help with the search. After nearly two hours of searching, the Park City Ski Patrol gently broke the news that the couple would likely have to wait until spring to find the ring.

But that’s when a sparkle captured Phil’s eye amidst the glistening snow. It was the ring! Phil then saw his chance to turn this wild adventure into something even more unforgettable and got down on his knees again. Phil dropped to one knee again with the ring in hand and proposed. Kim started jumping up and down; she was overcome with relief and joy as the skiers above cheered as Kim said yes for the second time.

And just like that, a moment of heartache turned into a memory they will treasure forever. They will look back on their engagement photos with laughter, tears, and teamwork as they tell a story of love and persistence that’s as sparkling as Kim’s ring.
